
NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT) TECHNICIAN
Job Description
Support daily inspection demands. SNT-TC-1A Level II NDT certifications and documented hours required in the following methods: Visual Testing, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant. Recommended to have knowledge in surface casting defects and radiographic film interpretations. Inspections performed will be in accordance with NAVSEA Tech Pub T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 with MIL-STD-2035A acceptance criteria.
Reports to NDT Lead and Quality Manager
Responsibilities & Duties
Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
Organize and report test results
Perform specialized inspections
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned
Skills/Training/Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent
SNT-TC-IA Level II Visual Testing, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant
Shop math and print reading skills
Ability to distinguish color to meet specific inspection criteria
Ability to use basic computer functions for data entry, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook
Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with positive attitude
Travel may be required for additional training as needed
Work overtime as requested
Must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated
Must be dependable
Mechanical aptitude is a plus
Must have exceptional attention to detail
Additional Recommended Skills
Ability to perform visual and liquid penetrant inspections on castings
Review and interpret radiographic film
Physical Requirements
Stooping, bending, crouching, reaching
Standing for long periods of time, up to 95% of shift
